Join the Be True team for our four-week, 200-hour immersive yoga teacher training experience. Yoga Alliance certified.
Our 200-hr. YTT is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for personal and social transformation. Along with the philosophies and practices of the ancient traditions of yoga, we cover contemporary practices, including being trauma-informed and the fundamental connection between yoga and mental health.
Our training fully prepares the learner to lead empowering classes and to be a powerful leader for change. And we'll have fun as we practice and learn together.
Our training fully prepares the learner to lead empowering classes and to be a powerful leader for change. And we'll have fun as we practice and learn together.
The Program:
Apart from learning the history and philosophies of yoga through a contemporary lens, including how to apply the 8 Limbs of Yoga to everyday life, we'll teach you the Be True sequence, which will be your launching point for creating your own sequences. We'll teach you how to do that, too: effectively, safely, and confidently. This is the training that teachers wish they had done.
Along with the dozens of asanas we'll cover, we will make sure you have an understanding of anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics that will inform better classes. We'll also show you how to approach movement in a trauma-informed way and for special populations, such as for children and the elderly.
During the final week of the program, you'll have an opportunity to practice teaching during Vermont Be True's Annual Yoga Festival. Hundreds of people come each summer to practice yoga, to learn, and to celebrate the lifestyle of community and wellness that we have been developing at Milldale Farm for years. Included in the program are several sessions on business acumen, social media strategy, and best practices to help you transition from a student into a leader in your own community.
Most importantly, we will create long-lasting personal and professional relationships and you will be a member of our community for life, with an invitation to collaborate with us on our programming, discounts on our dozens of programs, and more.

The Experience:
Milldale Farm is located on 300+ acres of beautiful valley and farmland near Lake Fairlee in central Vermont. For your accommodations, the price of the training includes a campsite and outdoor showers and facilities. This is a nature-based experience.
Classes, for now, will be held outside under one of the big tents we have installed for our programs, with plenty of space beneath for social distancing and fresh mountain air.
Be True will be serving freshly prepared plant-based meals twice daily, at 10am and again at 6pm. Brunch will include fresh fruits, granola, house-baked breads, yogurt, as well as hot, healthy dishes. Dinners will comprise hot meals, salads, soups, and more. The camp kitchen will be available for you to prepare and store your own in-between snacks and we'll have extra fruit and snacks available for you.
Apart from classes, which will take up most of your day, students are expected to participate in "Karma Yoga" activities — service to others — such as helping to prepare meals, tend gardens, refill water dispensers, etc. Roles will be assigned during satsang on the second day of training. You will be asked about personal dietary and physical restrictions in your application to the retreat, which will be respected by our team and staff.
We will have one day off a week, TBD, and you're encouraged to catch up on studies, hike one of the several trails around the valley, or catch a ride down to Lake Fairlee for a swim. We ask that you refrain from drugs, alcohol, meat, and coming into contact with others who are not part of our "quarantine group" for the duration of the training and remain on the farm or engage in one of these beautiful nature activities.
What about COVID-19?
First and foremost, Vermont Be True is taking every precaution to ensure the safety and health of our trainers, students, and staff. For the time being, our YTT is a nature-based retreat, including outdoor classes (we have tents), with ample space for social distancing, hand-washing stations, outdoor showers and facilities, and tons of space for campsites.
We are staying current with Vermont state regulations, understanding that by July 2021 things may have improved around the country and restrictions may be eased. That said, we are going to state the following for now and update it in accordance with state and federal guidelines as time goes on:
As of November 2020, everybody is required test negative for COVID-19 before arriving. Upon arrival and for the first 2 weeks, we are required to wear a mask when in close proximity to one another. After the second week of the training we will have been considered "quarantined together" and will no longer need to social distance and wear masks.

Meet Your Instructors
Jasmine (Bhavani) was born in Queens, NY, to immigrant parents, whom always made sure to keep a connection close to their Latin culture. Although the schools she attended and the community she lived in was diverse, she never felt like she fit in. In college she studied Hotel/Restaurant Management and worked full time in the financial industry but always feeling like she wore some sort of costume, nothing felt authentic. Discovering yoga was like a re-birth for her, opening the connection between mind,
body, and soul. Driven by the feeling to share that experience with others Jasmine became a 200-hour Certified Yoga Instructor, Sivananda Chair Yoga Certified and is passionate about healing through Ayurveda and herbalism. She currently spends her time between Queens and Milldale Farm Center for Wellness in Vermont. Finding a home at Milldale Farm, Jasmine can be found guiding a Hatha Yoga Class or cooking a vegetarian meal.
